Four Power System Problems Common in Colocation Facilities
Problem 1: Non-redundant Power Grids
Multiple PDUs connected to separate power grids and multiple UPSs should be designed into the colocation facility to offset a power grid failure. Colocation facilities with redundant power grids can connect customer servers to different grids at the same time, so that even if one goes offline, the other will work, keeping the network running without interruption.
Problem 2: Non-redundant UPSs
The UPSs supply power during an outage until the generator can come online; if the UPSs do not turn on immediately at the time of failure, then the network will go down. Even with high quality UPSs, failures are common, so it is critical for there to be multiple redundant UPS units in an “n+1” configuration – all of the necessary UPSs, plus an extra. Functionally, this means that each UPS runs sufficiently below capacity to handle a unit failure without the other units overloading. If there are two UPSs, then each unit must run below 50%, so that if one fails, the other can continue without overloading. If there are three units, each must run below 66%; four units, below 75%. The current load is shown on the display on the front of the UPS.
Problem 3: Transfer Switch Failures
Most colocation facilities use mechanical transfer switches, which are not as dependable as circuit breakers, to switch power from the electric utility to the generator. These switches are one of the most common places the power system fails. Without redundant switches to transfer power at the same point, a transfer switch failure will mean that a network goes down.
Problem 4: Insufficient Generator Capacity
Generators supply power during an outage. To run without overloading, the generator must have capacity to run 1.5 times the total building load. Ideally, a colocation facility should have a redundant backup generator in case the primary generator fails, and the facility should have a process in place for switching power between generators. Having multiple generators is not the same as having redundant generators. One of the most common generator problems with colocation facilities is that the facility started out with a small generator and added generators as it grew. This creates multiple points where power has to be transferred during an outage, increasing the likelihood that a network will go down. As a practical consideration, the generators must be well-maintained, tested monthly, and fully supplied with fuel.
Points to Consider
Fewer than one in twenty colocation facilities have the best power systems in place despite the fact that power systems have the most impact on network uptime. Without well-maintained and redundant components running below capacity at every part of the system, network performance as well as server performance and equipment lifetime will suffer. To make sure that the power system at a colocation facility is robust enough to handle power and equipment failures, two words should be remembered: capacity and redundancy.

Relax Your Way To Public Speaking
If fear is all that you are thinking, then forget about that presentation that could earn your company and you the necessary sales. Presentation and public speaking is one of the most efficient as well as effective manner in making your products and services known. Why deny your product or service the chance to be heard? If you are still afraid, try your very best to focus on the various positive after effects of making that presentation. Create in your mind the numerous clients, customers and contact persons you might not get to see or be involved with if you let that unnecessary and irrelevant anxiety take hold of you. Your presentation may only take thirty minutes but the long term effects of your pitch or presentation might go a long way.
If the fear is still gripping you, try to do the following exercises to help your body relax and warm up to whatever it is you plan to do in your presentation. Turn that negative energy into a positive one and see who benefits best from it.
Warm up your body
Are you wearing high heeled shoes now? If you are, please take them off now. Then go and stand up. Try to stand on only one leg. Then shake the leg that is off the floor. Switch legs and do the same thing again. What you are doing is taking the negative energy of anxiety towards the floor and out of your body. Though this may appear and sound so out of this world, it actually works. For your information, actors use this as a warm-up exercise prior to attacking any scene.
Hold out your hands, shake them, fast. Put your hands over your head and bring them to your sides. Repeat the same process. Doing this continually will take the tension off your hands and arms so any movements you make with them during your presentation gets to appear natural.
Ease the tension present in the muscles of your face. In order to do this what you could do is chew in a manner that is exaggerated.
These exercises are done for the purpose of warming any part of your body that is edgy, uptight or taut from being too nervous thinking about how you will do in your presentation. Do not think too much though as it only adds unnecessary stress. Relax and your audience will relax along with you.

Travel Jobs & How to Make Money While You Travel
Ever had the desire to quit your lame 9 to 5 job, tell your boss to shove it, pack up and start traveling the world?
All of us have had that desire at one point! The thing that stopped you was probably the same thing that stops most people: money.
"How will I pay for my flights, food, lodging, transportation, yada, yada, yada," you asked yourself.
Don't let these concerns bother you too much, because there is an underground, growing group of travelers who are utilizing some simple but hidden techniques to make significant incomes while traveling.
Here's an overview of how we make money traveling and by landing travel jobs:
Underground Travel Income Method #1 - Traditional Travel Job - Hold a job that either a) pays for us to travel or b) is located in the place we wish to travel to. This is the lowest paying and most complicated method of all, but is the most commonplace.
Common jobs that pay for travels are for professional speakers, salespeople, package couriers, flight attendants, travel nurses/doctors, conservationists, cruise ship workers, etc.
Travel jobs located in the places we wish to go to can be any of the above, but also are specific to the location we travel to. There are some FUN jobs overseas that are looking for foreign workers!
Underground Travel Income Method #2 - Travel Writing - Travel writing jobs for magazines are more common than you may imagine. However, there are LOADS of other ways to write as you travel and make money, including blogging, picking up projects from sites like Elance and Guru, and writing travel guides, both online and offline.
Underground Travel Income Method #3 - Selling Affiliate Products - Using a simple website, you can drive online traffic to a product that will be of interest to your online followers. Don't be intimidated by this! It can be as easy as using your very own Facebook or Myspace profile. Affiliate products typically pay 50% to 75%, so you can make a very healthy income for selling just a few objects.
Underground Travel Income Method #4 - Filming Your Adventures - If you've got the camera out and you're taking pictures, why not switch it to 'film' mode and make money from it? You simply make a video of your destinations using iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, then use your videos to create a customer base!
Underground Travel Income Method #5 - Podcasting - If filming scares you off or intimidates you, you can make an iTunes podcast. It is easier than ever to get listed in iTunes and there's a HUGE audience of podcast listeners. Simply talk about the places you visit two or three times a week and watch how your following grows... and how your bank account grows!
Underground Travel Income Method # 6 - eBay - The common misconception about eBay is that you have to sell a physical product to make money. Here's the trick: You can set up a fulfillment house to ship your product (or hire your little sister or the neighborhood kid). All you have to do is create your eBay post from an internet café and collect the money!
Take any one of these six 'travel job' methods, and there are hundreds of travelers all over the world making more money than they would at a regular 'job...' and they're living it up at exotic, world-class destinations. Take your pick, and take action on the ideas here!

Gregory Reyes Trial | Real Time Court Status
Brocade had no CFO at the time. I can't remember if the CFO had left just prior to Greg joining or shortly thereafter. I do recall that Brocade was having a difficult time finding a replacement and that the prior CFO had not been suitable to represent the company during an IPO and as a public company. My understanding was that Greg had inherited the CFO problem and was doing his best to find a replacement. Silicon Valley was booming at the time and CFOs were a tough find.
At the initial meeting, in subsequent ones, and at dinners over the next year Greg and I discussed Brocade, their desire to go public, market conditions and the fibre channel industry. Greg also made comments from time to time about his family - all complimentaiy about how wonderful and closely knit they were. He specifically mentioned the sacrifices his wife had made, with small children, to nurture their family. It was very clear that Greg treasured his family and worried about the demands of his current position on his wife and two children.
I believe that two specific encounters are very relevant to Greg's current legal situation. Overall, I am shocked that of the many CEOs I knew during the relevant time period he is the one to be convicted in a criminal trial.
The first situation was when Greg and I initially discussed the possibility of Brocade going public. He said the company had started the process then stopped it after deciding that it wasn't ready. At that time, he made it clear to me that he felt an ethical obligation to stick with the original underwriting team since they had already put in a lot of work and had been loyal to Brocade.
Next, when Brocade did go public, Greg invited our firm to be part of the underwriting syndicate (the underwriters typically consist of three or so investment banks who do most of the work. Greg kept this original team. The syndicate is a much broader group, and only sells stock. In most IPOs this latter list is quite long to ensure wide distribution of shares. We were part of this second group). The lead banker, Morgan Stanley, tried to exclude us from the syndicate at the last minute. I called Greg to discuss this problem. At that time he asked me what his legal and ethical options were. He made it very clear that he would maintain his commitment to us - he felt ethically bound to do so since he had committed to include us - only if doing so was legally correct.
When I recently read in a newspaper that Greg had sent an email in which he said that backdating was illegal I was shocked to read that the email was being interpreted such that he knew illegal things were occurring at Brocade. Based on my experience with Greg 1 read the comment to mean that he was reiterating what was legal to ensure that email recipient complied with the law. As stated above, Greg made it clear to me that both ethical and legal factors were very important to him and must be maintained. He was exceptional as a CEO in his emphasis on the value he placed on legality, ethics and loyalty.
Therefore, based on my experiences with Grog during the period at issue in his trial and sentencing I would respectfully urge the judge to consider leniency. Greg was always gracious, courteous and respectful in every situation in which 1 observed him. Greg worked incredible hours and entered a company with either no CFO or an inappropriate one. One person can only do so much and I would hate to see other executives shy away from companies with similar difficulties due to their own future possible liabilities.

NDS Roms
P2P (Peer to Peer) websites are set up so that your NDS roms downloads aren't from the website itself, but rather from its users. Torrents are the common file types for P2P websites as they are optimized for the multiple-user download system, pause and restart easily at any time, and let you upload bits of the data to other users. However there are occasions where you may aid in uploading viruses and other malware - in addition to getting them yourself. Additionally, the torrents themselves could have been tampered with to contain devious objects that will attack your computer or even steal files and important information from cache.
There are of course NDS roms download websites where you can download NDS roms that aren't torrents. Such websites are more reliable as they usually test all roms and cannot be easily interfered with by malicious users. Many sites provide downloads at no cost, but are they reliable? Free websites rely solely on donations, thus are restricted on budget. Fewer employees can be hired to verify roms for malware and reliability. Less powerful servers are purchased leading to common site outages for maintenance and bandwidth issues, causing the administrators to impose users with daily limit of NDS roms downloads or affecting the speed at which they download NDS roms. While the idea of paying a single membership fee on websites seems daunting, that fee goes to keep servers up for a faster and smoother download process than the free alternatives.
Ultimately your decisions to download illegally ripped NDS games, as well as which download method you support, are left up to you. With the safety of both your PC and DS in mind however, paid NDS roms download websites are recommended for the security and reliability they offer.

Getting A 21st Century Education
Introduction
The current practice of today's generation looks at different lifestyles that one would like to follow suit. Usually, the lifestyle models are successful philanthropists who seem to find money on trees; literally. There is definitely a charm that endears a financially free lifestyle. However, most people consider financial freedom as a dream that is impossible to realize.
Unfortunately, this sad pessimism to life is the norm rather than the exception. We go about our days and years thinking that we can never be free from our debts or from the weight of different bills and cost. We continue to live our lives knowing this sad thought. Yet this idea cannot be further from the truth. Acquiring a new perspective, philosophy, and practice that reflects an optimistic view of our financial health is the heart of 21st Century Education
Defining 21st Century Education
The revolutionary yet simple mindset offered by this kind of education centres on the possibility of wealth creation and living a financially independent lifestyle. While this is the ideal result of a person who fully understands the heart of this kind of education, getting it is not easy. However, the standard is worth the investment. The sudden change of perspective will not only change our lives but will also change how we look into the different trends today.
Getting a 21st Century Education
The value of this kind of education hinges on certain learning components to help people make money instead of people working for money. The main goal is to create new methods to create wealth far removed from the standard wealth creating practices. While the wealth creation involves making opportunities, this concept finds new ways to make opportunities from a different standard ahead of our time.
The principle teaches financial rationality removed from our emotional decisions. It states that consciousness in making financial decisions is a function of how we react to different circumstances. By doing, the smart move despite what our emotions tell us, we are able to develop a way to control the way we react to events.
This concept also involves looking at the same thing differently. This enhances our problem solving skills as we think of creative ways to conclude different tasks. As an example, there are different ways to peel a banana yet we end up peeling bananas in the most common way. Sometimes, we readily see different solutions to a problem. However, we still insist on the standard solution. This principle breaks traditional problem solving methods in order to force us to be creative.
This kind of education also emphasizes the value of efficient communication, negotiation, and priorities in fast times. These skills will help us enhance our skills to turn ideas into reality. With efficient communication methods, we can readily converse with different people and share our profitable ideas. Having an idea is one thing, while applying it with good communication and negotiation skills is critical. Remember, everyone has ideas while making ideas work is not for everyone.
The concept hinges on a system of results, purpose, and action. While this principle is not new, the new perspective brought about by this kind of education tackles this system differently. A result focused, purpose driven, and action oriented persons are usually the successful people. This kind of education is the product of developing these traits.
Finally, financial freedom and getting a 21st Century Education involves planning a positive framework for your life. In the end, this is not about the value of money. Instead, it is the manifestation of our happiness. Having a list of priorities that will make you happy will give you an overview and a viable life structure. This is a holistic approach to financial freedom and designing our lives to help us live up to our potential. While getting a 21st Century Education is an investment, it is definitely what everyone needs.
